Description
This bird may be observed in woodland areas. The male has a distinctive scarlet head, breast and rump this is in contrast to the black wing feathers which are white tipped; abdomen is pale brown. The female is olive-brown in colour paler on the abdomen; throat and chin often have a reddish tinge. Legs and feet brown, eyes dark brown, bill black.
