Description
Plants often have only one stem with long leaves to 80 x 12 cm, cultivated ones often have reddish streaks, veins conspicuous, lateral veins acutely angled. Flowers in panicles, each flower usually less than 1 cm long. There are many ovules in each locule of the ovary. Most plants growing on the campus are cultivars.
