Position Statement

Utilising your formal qualifications, technical proficiency and broad experience as a senior administrator, you will play a key role in managing the procure to pay operations of the University. You will be responsible for process improvements as well as policy development and the implementation of procure to pay strategies and contracts, and will work independently and exercise sound judgment and initiative. Providing high-level support, analysis and advice to the Manager Financial Operations you will employ innovation and creativity coupled with business and entrepreneurial skills to coordinate the shared services model of service delivery and to inspire a productive, client focused, results driven team who may be located centrally and/or in multiple Schools/Offices across all campuses.

In this senior position you will interact with a complex range of relationships within a diverse internal and external environment and will provide guidance to all levels of staff on the procure to pay operations of the University.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. 1.

    A member of CPA or CA with extensive relevant experience particularly in the Procure to Pay area, or an equivalent combination of Purchasing qualifications and experience in a multidiscipline service delivery environment;

  2. 2.

    Demonstrated expertise in operational planning and best practice in the Shared Services Model of service delivery including the ability to exercise initiative to analyse and use a flexible approach to resolve operational problems;

  3. 3.

    Demonstrated experience in staff management in a shared service delivery environment, including the planning of staff and resources, review of performance, mentoring, change management and leadership skills and a sound understanding of organisational behaviour and ability to motivate and drive staff;

  4. 4.

    Demonstrated expertise in the use of IT to deliver innovative solutions for the efficient and effective delivery of procure to pay services;

  5. 5.

    Highly developed oral and written communication, interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders;

  6. 6.

    Proven time management and project management skills and the ability to meet a range of potentially competing deadlines;

  7. 7.

    demonstrated ability to determine, apply, interpret, enforce and justify appropriate policies, procedures and regulations.

Desirable Selection Criteria

  1. 1.

    Knowledge of, or experience in, the Australian Tertiary Education sector;

  2. 2.

    Knowledge of Spendvision or Finance One.
