Position Statement
The Corporate Planning and Performance Office (CPP) is a new area within the University with a position to fill. If you possess excellent analytical skills and are interested in making a real contribution to the enhancement of the University’s corporate knowledge and performance, then we want you to be part of the CPP team.
The role of the CPP is to: provide corporate statistical, management and business intelligence reporting services; provide reporting solutions and systems in support of this objective; provide, monitor and analyse performance measurement data; assist management to improve the University’s performance against these and other external performance measures; manage the University’s Planning processes and facilitate the development of the Strategic and Operational Plans.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Planning & Performance, this position will manage and support the information systems, software applications, and reporting tools used by the CPP Office; ensure that managers have flexible access to management information through the provision of web-based reporting and data warehouse solutions; provide business intelligence, market research, statistics, data analysis and reporting services to the University.
Key Selection Criteria
- 1.
A relevant degree and extensive relevant experience preferably IT, Statistics, Economics or Accounting related fields, with at least eight years' professional experience, particularly in data extraction and mining, data analysis, and provision of business intelligence;
- 2.
Demonstrated experience in the use of PC based systems and software (eg. Microsoft Excel, Word, Access);
- 3.
Demonstrated ability to extract data from large corporate application systems and databases using SQL or other querying tools and/or extensive experience in administering large corporate applications and/or relational databases, and developing web-based applications;
- 4.
Demonstrated experience in the preparation, analysis and interpretation of statistical data;
- 5.
Demonstrated analytical thinking skills and a flexible approach to problem solving;
- 6.
Proven time management and project management skills and the ability to meet a range of potentially competing deadlines;
- 7.
Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal and team building skills.
Desirable Selection Criteria
- 1.
Knowledge of, or experience in, the Australian Tertiary Education sector;
- 2.
Statistical or management reporting experience with student systems, particularly Student One;
- 3.
Experience in the specification, selection, evaluation, planning an implementation of large IT projects;
- 4.
Knowledge of, or experience with data warehousing information systems;
- 5.
Knowledge of or experience in teaching and learning evaluation in higher education.
