Role

As the Faculty Librarian I work with staff and students to provide optimum library service for the Faculty of Arts, Education and Social Sciences. Specifically I am also the Liaison Librarian for the School of Education and the Department of Anthropology, Archaeology and Sociology and the Department of Humanities. Particular responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a focus for contact and enquiries from staff and students within the Schools

  • Working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Library Liaison Officer, Leta Lenoy, to provide support for students and staff in the School of Indigenous Australian Studies

  • Providing library and information skills education

  • Collection development including maintenance of a collection of subject related network resources accessible via the World Wide Web

  • Identifying new courses, trends, and areas of concern within the Faculty which may have implications for library planning

  • Providing suitable induction for new staff and students.
